Weird Science: Babylon

I haven't done a Weird Science post in a while.  I needed to make a new batch of Babylon today and  there are lots of fun colors in it so I thought this would be a perfect color for this post.

I love using complimentary colors (colors opposite of each other on the color wheel) to make browns and taupes.  It seems to give them so much more dimension.

Hop you enjoyed this installation of Weird Science. :)

Giveaway now Closed...I will announce the winner in the next 24 hours.  Thanks for playing!  I have loved reading all the entries :D

Thought I would have a small little giveaway in celebration of finally reformulating my Aqua Liners. This giveaway will be for a one off shade that I made while testing the formula. I've been wanting a burgundy liner so when I made my test liner batch I made burgundy loaded with holographic glitter, also included is a big grab bag of Darling Girl samples.

You will get what is pictured.

I thought it would be fun to get to know you a little better especially since I have quite a few new readers and customers.
I will start...Three things you probably don't know about me, I have a potty mouth, I am ambidextrous.  I cut my hand terribly when I was learning to write so even though I started out right handed I am know a lefty but for most everything I can do either right or left and lastly probably and most surprising to everyone who knows me now I use to be quite the "wild child" mohawk having, combat boot wearing, clove smokin....lol you get the idea. :P

Da rules:
  1. Tell me 3 things about yourself. (required)
  2. Leave your GFC name (required)
  3. Leave me your email address so I can contact you if you win (required)
  4. Tweet about this giveaway. (Leave tweet link for 1 extra entry)

pretty magenta with metallic Magenta Mama :)

Last weekend I made a trip to Ulta, it's been forever since I have been there, so I was like a kid in the candy shop...It was like heaven...I saw so many pretty shades but the one that stuck out the most and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it was a really pretty magenta with metallic shimmer. It was to die for, so instead of shelling out the $20 or so they wanted for it I decided to make one. I am really happy with Incognito too, it's a really pretty magenta with metallic sheen and twinkling metallic shimmer. It is sheer but buildable, so pretty. The other shades listed are also all new in the sense that I haven't had to swatch them until now. I will hopefully be updating the site tomorrow or Friday.
Here is the look I created with it.
Eyes: ELF Mineral Primer all over
Champagne Kiss~ Inner third of lid to just above crease
Incognito out 2/3 of lid
Showdown~Crease, but it was too dark, so I tried to smudge it out
Morning Glory~Highlight and lower lash liner, inner half
Cheeks: Silk Naturals cream blush in Devoted with my new glow Precious layered over it.
Lips: Revlon Just Bitten lipstain in Crave with Jezebel lipgloss layered over

Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Chromium Oxide Green, Magnesium StearateIncognito~Beautiful magenta with metallic shimmer. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Iron Oxide, Magnesium StearateChampagne Kisses~Champagne shimmer with very subtle green highlight and baby red shimmer. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Magnesium StearateMorning Glory~Looks peach in the jar but goes on a creamy off white with multi-colored sheen. Beautiful! Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Magnesium Stearate Precious~This is a glow/highlight shades that can be used to highlight the face or eyes. It is a delicate baby pink. Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Serecite.

Edited: I forgot to ask What are you favorite eye color combinations? I never would have thought to put purple and green together, but I saw an FOTD on another blog, ugh, can't remember which one...anyway I really liked the combo. I also like Purple's and Gold's together. :)

Generally during the week all I have time for is a 5 minute face

Generally during the week all I have time for is a 5 minute face, so I thought I would share a really simple but fast look using a newly reformulated Aqua Liner and an unreleased Spectral Shift.

Close up of the eyes.
What I used:
Eyes: elf $1 primer
Dusty Rose Spectral Shift applied to the crease, then Aqua Liner (no name yet) lined thickly then finger smudged. Tarte SmolderEYES in expresso to tightline and Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black

What is your 5 minute face?

Scent: Pumpkin Queen perfume oil form Haus of Gloi

So yesterday Phyrra posted an awesome look using Pretty Plasma and after a little chatting back and forth I decided do something using this color. I haven't actually worn Pretty Plasma yet as I feel these kinds of blues look wretched on me. Phyrra mentioned how taupes go with anything and I love a pretty taupe so I decided to go with Pretty Plasma and my favorite taupe of the moment Smoking Gun.

This was a pretty quick look as I had about ten minutes before we ran out and did some errands.  Overall I really like it, although my husband said it looked a little 80's =/

 What I used:
Eyes: elf mineral primer with Glitter Glue from lash line to crease
Pretty Plasma - all over lower lid
Smoking Gun - crease
Calla - highlight
Buddy Blue smudged over Milani LiquifEye on lower lash line.
Milani LiquifEye in black upper and lower lash line.
Mascara: Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black

 Face: bare
Cheeks: The Balm cream blush in The Drama Queen
Lips:  Spiced Pumpkin Buttercream lip balm
Scent: Pumpkin Queen perfume oil form Haus of Gloi

How do you wear blue eye shadow or do you?

Eyes: elf Mineral Primer with Glitter Glue from lash line up and blend into the crease

I've been working on a new line for quite some time now called Diamond Dust. They are super sparkly eye shadows that you just have to see in person to appreciate. Weekends are the only time I seem to wear makeup anymore so I thought I would have a play with one of the new Diamond Dust's in Flare. These will be released sometime in January along with the Rainbow Brite colors (duochrome highlights)

Anyway on to the fotd...sorry it it quite pic heavy.  I was trying to capture the glittery goodness but my camera doesn't like glitter, bad camera!

What I used:
Eyes: elf Mineral Primer with Glitter Glue from lash line up and blend into the crease.
Pretty Mistake 1 inner corner and transition
Flare Diamond Dust all over the rest of lid and to line lower lash line.
Physican Formula Shimmer Strip eye liner black with green fleck to tight line and along water line.
Mascara: Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black

Look at the pretty green flakies. :D
Face: Lucy Minerals in Medium mixed with Pretty Pampered Primer Powder
Cheeks: The Balm cream blush in The Drama Queen from The Balm & The Beautiful palette
Dusty Rose Spectral Shift along cheek bones.
Lips: Pink Panache Kiss Me Tinted Lip Balm
Blurred so you can really see the sparkle!

What's on you face today?

Orange You Glad To See Me?

When my oldest son was a little guy he had this corny joke that he would tell to everyone who would listen. I am pretty sure he thought it was funnier than anyone else, but when I made this blush I knew what I had to name it.

Knock, Knock
Who's there?
Orange
Orange who?
Orange you glad to see me?

Orange You Glad To See Me? blush

Anyway...this is my quick 5 minute face today.

The goods:  Top row, unreleased lip gloss very similar to Jaded, middle row lilac with gold shift creamy base I've been testing, Little Miss Sunshine Spectral Shift (soon to be released), bottom row Orange You Glad To See Me? blush.
Eyes: elf $1 primer with the lilac cream base over it.
Tarte EMPHASeyes in Espresso to liner upper and lower lash line.
Little Miss Sunshine brow bone.
Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black mascara
Face: bare
Cheeks: Orange You Glad To See Me?
